| 内容記述 | Analogy plays an important role in human thought. When confronted with an unfamiliar things or situations, we often start to look for things that are familiar or similar in some way and build a structure of analogy between those things. Successful analogy brings understanding. From ancient times, people have used trees as a base for analogies. This study investigates analogies to tree from ancient myths to the middle ages of the Christian era. Some general features of the mechanism of analogy creation are also explored. | |||||||||||
