| 内容記述 | 本稿は，激変する社会・経済環境において住民の日常生活にとって不可欠な上下水道サービスの将来的な持続可能性について検討することを目的としている。人口が急増した高度経済成長期には水道・下水道ともに普及・拡大が急務であり，そこでは主に技術的可能性について焦点が当てられてきた。しかし，施設の老朽化に伴う更新需要の増大，度重なる自然災害に対する強靭な施設整備など投資が急増していく一方，人口減少とともに料金収入が将来的に減少傾向が続くと予想される今日では，よりマネジメントの重要性が認識され経営学・経済学的な研究アプローチが注目されるようになっている。そこで本稿では上下水道事業の経済的特性を明らかにしつつ，その将来的な持続可能性について検討を行う。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The purpose of this article is to discuss about sustainability of water and sewerage services under the rapidly changing socio-economic environment in Japan. In the period of high economic growth where the population rapidly increased, it was urgent to expand both water supply and sewage systems. Due to the increasing trend of investment for replacement of aging facilities and for strengthening facilities against repeated natural disasters, as well as the decreasing trend of water and sewerage revenue in the future, management science and economics has been drawing attention. Therefore, in this paper, we will discuss the sustainability of water and sewerage industry with clarifying the economic characteristics of these sectors. | |||||||||
