| 内容記述 | New nursesʼ turnover in Japan was 8.6% in 2020. While there are various reasons for turnover, one of the main ones is interpersonal relationships in the workplace, and an improvement of new nursesʼ communication skills are important. This study aims to clarify what kinds of communication skills are required by new nurses, according to nurses in charge of newcomer education. A semi-structured interview was conducted involving nurses who have experienced at two acute care hospitals for 3 - 5 years. The interview content was analyzed using a qualitative inductive method. Participants were also asked to confirm that there were no discrepancies in the content. Ethical approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee of Tokushima University（3610 - 1） and A Hospital（21 - 2） in Tokushima, Japan. The average age of eleven participants（1 man and 10 women） was 25.0 years. The interviewtime was 22 to 39（Mean ± SD ; 28.72 ± 6.05） minutes. As a result, the following 4 categories were extracted as communication skills required by new nurses : ［Behavior that prioritizes patient safety and comfort］, ［ability to behave close to other personʼs heart ］,［Behave like a new nurse］ and［Ability to accept the opinions of others］. In acute phase medical settings, even new nurses require the ［Behavior that prioritizes patient safety and comfort］, including patients. The educators sought for the new nurses to have the ability to actively express themselves to protect patient safety, and the ability to promote interactions with others within the medical team. To clarify the communication skills, which are deemed necessary by nurses in charge of newcomer education, it is useful for building interpersonal relationships and developing newcomer education contents in medical settings because to be based on their own experience of newcomer days. | |||||||||||||||||
